Aid for Ghana
Besides educating students, Theresia-Gerhardinger-Gymnasium am Anger attaches great importance to teaching Christian values and developing social skills. The school is very involved in supporting people in need of assistance. Several projects have been started at the school to support Notre Dame Senior Secondary School, the sister school.

The Christmas bazaar

Christmas Bazar
Christmas Bazaar
Every year, in mid-December, the school turns into a colorful bazaar for a few hours. Colorful stands with homemade cookies and handicrafts decorate the school building. The bazaar enjoys great popularity among the teachers, parents and the Notre Dame School Sisters. A part of the proceeds from the bazaar go direct to the sister school in Ghana. In December 2007, about $ 3,725 (converted at March 2008 rates) went to Notre Dame Senior Secondary School in Sunyani. Information on the projects financed by the proceeds is available under donations.

The Ghana working group

This working group is responsible for organizing sponsorships for students of Notre Dame Senior Secondary School in Sunyani, among other things. Students, parents or teachers of the school in Munich are invited to become sponsors of a girl in Ghana. Tuition for one year at Notre Dame Senior Secondary School in Sunyani amounts to the equivalent of $ 450 (converted at March 2008 rates) per student. This covers the cost of classes, room and board. The head of the school in Sunyani finds dedicated girls who cannot afford the tuition fees. The Ghanaian girls then send a personal letter and a photograph to Germany. This helps the German sponsors to develop an understanding of the situation in West Africa. In the school year of 2006/2007, 17 classes as well as ten parents or teachers sponsored girls in Ghana. Special recognition goes to Sister Luitborg Brandl from Munich and to Sister Leonora Tucker from Sunyani, whose commitment made these sponsorships possible during the past years.
